My brand new sofa has finally arrived! At the last minute, I changed my fabric choice and I was so nervous these past two months waiting for its arrival. I am happy to say the fabric I choose last minute turned out beautifully! I choose a neutral performance velvet fabric (Its suppose to stand up to everyday life, kids and pets!) for the sofa so I could add different pillows to refresh my space whenever I wanted.
Speaking of pillows... Have you seen a new trend you want to experiment with? Pillows are an inexpensive way to change the look of your room and try out new trendy colors (like Pantone's color of the year, Greenery!). When you are over the trend, it is super easy to swap your pillows out for another set. This way you don't have to fully commit to a trend or style! Pillows can be used all over your home to add a fun pop of color or a new texture. I love to use my pillows to play with patterns like these vignettes below!
I DIYed some pillows to give my daughters bedroom a refresh. I used this fun feather print, coral with tiny white polka dots and a mint arrow print for the pillows. All these pillows will make you want to curl up and read a book or take a nap... Naps are my favorite!
Lately, I have been a little pillow crazy and right now I am really loving black & white. So much so, I recovered my antique settee in a black & white buffalo check fabric. Black & white is so versatile and these two colors can be mixed and matched in all kinds of eye catching ways.
I love to use pillows that have fabrics on both sides. That way when they are tossed around by husbands, kids and pets they still look pretty! Removable covers are another must! It makes it so much easier to clean or switch out colors and patterns with out having to buy a whole new pillow. Here are some fun ways I styled my new sofa with pillows to achieve different looks.
