We just moved into our brand new home in Oregon and I am so excited to show you our first project. We did a quick fireplace makeover using some paint, a little bit of wood and 2 days!

This is what we started with when we moved into our new house. The builder added a brown statement wall but it wasn’t really my style so we went to work the first few days after we moved in!
After taping everything off, we painted the whole wall in “City Loft’ to match the rest of the room. Look at my super cute helpers!
Boy, oh boy. its amazing what a little paint can do to transform a space! I already felt way better but I wanted to add some warmth to the room.
Which led me to build this super easy DIY fireplace mantle. This mantle is really just a cover on the old one to bulk it up and extend the top surface so we can decorate for the holidays! I roughly followed this blog post and fit it to my fireplace specs. I chose to use 1in x 8in x 6ft unfinished whitewood boards that I stained with Minwax “Special Walnut” stain.

The end results blew me away! I am so happy with this super easy (and affordable) DIY fireplace makeover. This project cost me about $30 since I already had the tools and wall paint!
