HOW TO: DECORATING WITH TASSELS
These days, tassels aren't the same ones hanging from your grandma's drapery panels. They recently got a major overhaul and we are loving them. Tassels are the perfect embellishment for clothing, accessories, pillows and even rugs. They come in many different colors and sizes and there are so many different ways you can use them. Today, we are sharing some of our favorite ways to use them around the home.
Is your room feeling bland and boring? Try adding some tassel pillows or throw. They add a relaxed boho-vibe to any space without looking overdone. Use small tassels to add a little bit of playfulness or over-sized tassels as the perfect statement piece. Sarah from Sarah M Dorsey Designs has an awesome DIY Anthro-Inspired Tassel Throw tutorial on her page!
Create a cozy corner by laying down a patterned rug (bonus points for one with tasseled fringe). Then add an over-sized floor pillow, like this one from Urban Outfitters. Layer planters with interesting plants on the floor or window sill to complete the look. Now, go curl up with your favorite drink and a couple of good books.
We love seeing tassels on curtains. You can easily get this look with a little DIY project. Choose a small tassel trim and sew or glue it on the edges of your curtains. Choose contrasting colors for a burst of color or similar colors for subtle texture and movement.
Get creative with your walls by hanging a cool tassel wall hanging. We love the how they used the different blue hues to create a fun Ombre feel. This is another easy DIY project that you could do in a weekend or less. Use them to fill awkward walls or hang as a headboard.
